The Lab Center for the Arts was founded in 1972 as the Community Center for the Arts and Humanities. Our first home was in the basement of McCulsky Library, and our first season was made up of a single puppet show!

SInce then, the Lab Center has grown by leaps and bounds, shepherded by our first board president, Martina Jingles. Martina’s passion and expertise eventually led to our capital campaign in 1990 and the successful construction of the beautiful LEED-certified building we are now housed in.

The Lab Center is a community-based organization that both produces and presents touring events, features a gallery and museum space, and also offers educational opportunities for both children and adults.
